University College of medical Sciences (U.C.M.S.) was established in the year 1971. It is affiliated o University of Delhi&sa=Search&ref='>Delhi and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, which is thousand bedded is its associated teaching Hospital. It offers various medical and paramedical courses which includes M.B.B.S., M.D. /M.S. Courses in various branches of Medicine and surgery, Ph.D courses in medical faculty, B.Sc. /M.Sc. in medical Imaging Technology, Radiography course, MLT Course and others. The intake capacity for M.B.B.S. s 150 seats and that of M.D. /M.S. is 71 seats. It is ranked amongst the top Colleges in the Country and has a very eminent and expert faculty. It caters to the health needs of the population residing at East Delhi&sa=Search&ref='>Delhi and its surrounding areas. It has best of facilities available which includes lecture theatres, well-equipped library, central Workshop, animal house, Hospital laboratory Services, medical Education unite, skill laboratory, medical illustration and photography unit, teleMedicine, central Research laboratory, dialysis unit, canteen and two boys hostel and a girls hostel along with separate hostel for junior and senior residents and nurses. It also provides residential facilities in Campus for its staff and workers.
