Rumesh Joseph Ratnayake, is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played in 23 Test matches and 70 One Day Internationals from 1982 to 1993. He was an interim head coach of Sri Lanka national cricket team in 2017. Ratnayake was born in Colombo. He is a former Sri Lankan fast bowler who terrorized batsmen between 1982 and 1992. The lanky bowler was a danger to batsmen due to his electric pace and phenomenal ability to move the ball. He made his debut at a young age and looked set to go on to become a great.
