Raimundo Fagner is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and guitarist who has earned worldwide critical acclaim for his unique fusion of traditional styles with modern rhythms. He was born as Raimundo Fagner Candido Lopes in the city of Sobral, located in the state of Ceará in 1947.Fagner is a prominent figure in Brazilian music. He was born in Oros, Ceara, Brazil on October 13, 1949. He won a local radio station's youth competition at age five, and began composing his own music as a teenager. In 1968, he won the Festival DE Música Popular Do Ceará with his song "Nada Sou". In the 1980s, Fagner produced and wrote the LP Traduzir-se, which featured Latin American artists like Mercedes Sosa. He also created the Raimundo Fagner Social Foundation in 2000, which has received awards from UNICEF and the Brazilian Ministry of Culture. He is still active and has released new albums. His 2024 album is Além Desse Futuro.
