General Shinseki is one of the finest individuals I have ever met. Out of the thousands of NCO's he has worked with, I doubt he will remember me,, but I certainly remember him. The General cared bout the line troops like few others, he was a "soldiers general". During his tenure at the VA, he instituted changes that were ground breaking. He made soldier suicide a priority, he addressed military sexual abuse and tried to streamline the system to get veterans the care they needed in a timely manner. I was working at the VA during his tenure and was deeply distressed when he resigned. Those who made the gross errors at the VA in AZ and a few other places should have, (if they haven't), been fired, tried and done done time if convicted. General Shinseki resigned under a cloud not of his own design. This man cared for everyone who wore a uniform for this nation. Sadly, the individual at the top takes the fall. I will stand by the general through thick and thin. The general is a great man.
