I wish to report the state of the handrails (near Greggs cafe) in Bolton Bus station. They are encrusted with food and drink over a long time. My partially disabled brother 80 yrs old tried to get down the steps yesterday to catch his bus and because of the state of the handrails had to try and use the lower rail. Unfortunately, part way down he fell and was unable to get up. A fellow passenger rushed to help him. He also complained about the state of the dirty rails and said the cleaning service needs to be complained to and get these rails clean. My brother has aching joints this morning, but it could have been worse. I cannot find any numbers to contact whoever is in charge of this, but these rails need a thorough cleaning and the culprits stopped from wiping food/drink along the rails.
